How Do I Install A Canon Pixma Printer?

I Currently Use A Lexmark Printer On A Dell Laptop Using Windows XP Pro And I Would Like To Replace The Lexmark Printer With A Canon Pixma Printer. What Is The BEST Way To Uninstall The Lexmark Printer And Install The Canon Pixma Printer? Thank You.
Both Printers Use A USB Port.
